Painting for beginners
Oh boy, it took me 12 years of studying art and my entire life of painting practice to actually feel like I know something and can make a good artwork (not all the time, of course). But I wouldn't change it anyway.
Fortunately, you don't need that many years, with my tips, your passion and a lot of work, you can make good art.
Let's start from the beginning
Love what you do
If you're here because you want to earn money or be successful, you're not going to succeed. You have to love painting, that's the reason why artists create art and why they don't quit after a few hundred/thousand times of producing bad artwork. You have to be passionate about the process of making art, not the end result. You need to love and enjoy the process.
Basic drawing/painting skills
Study anatomy, perspective and painting/drawing theory. Read as many books as you can, learn from YouTube videos, there are plenty of information out there. I know that it's not a very fun part and you may think that an abstract painter, for example, don’t really need to learn anatomy. But your practice will benefit from it, no matter what style/subject you paint, and you'll understand the world around you on a deeper level.

Colour theory
Learn about colours, how to mix them, how they interact with each other. Buy only 3 primary colours and black & white paint. Mix all the greens, browns and other shades yourself. This is one of the most crucial skills you need to learn from the beginning. Don't use colour straight from the tube, always try to mix it and get a unique shade.
Practice
Create as much as you can, if you can make art daily it's awesome, just create a lot of bad art. Yes, it's going to be bad, but it will get better with practice. Also it helps if you allow yourself to make bad art, it just takes the pressure off.
Ask a feedback
If you have a friend or someone who's in the art field ask them for a feedback, they can give you some useful advice and you'll find out about mistakes you need to fix. Sometimes just a family member or a friend can give you a good feedback, don't be afraid to ask.
Connect
Find like-minded people and connect with them, it will be very helpful and inspiring. Share your work and try to learn from other artists. If you can find some sort of an art community, that could be amazing.
Choose your medium
For a start I would recommend buying a one pack of a good quality paint, it could be acrylics, watercolors, oils or whatever you desire. I would recommend acrylics, they're easier to use and cheaper than oils. Work with your medium, study it, get better.
Get inspired
Go to museum, local art show, take a nice walk. Inspiration is everywhere, you just need to find it. And it will make your creative practice more meaningful and exciting.
Sketches
It's an amazing way of practicing how to draw/paint form, colour and subjects. Just go outside or choose some subjects to draw in your home, it could be anything: flowers, people, animals, shoes, food, etc...
Explore
Explore different mediums, subjects, angles. Try sculpture, digital art, photography, just be creative. Art can be anything, try to find new ways to make your creative practice more fun, different and interesting.
I hope that you’ll find these tips helpful and good luck with your Creative Jorney!
